Why We Exist

We believe every young person deserves a future they can get excited about. But too often, they’re left out of the loop, confused by outdated advice, overwhelmed by options, and unsure how to turn their skills into something that pays.

That’s where miFuture comes in.

We’re here to close the gap between education and employment. We help young people understand what the world of work actually wants, and help employers understand how to connect with the next generation.

How It Started

miFuture was born in a Welsh classroom. Our founder, Gem Hallett , was a teacher who saw the same thing over and over again: brilliant young people being told the only path to success was university.

That didn’t sit right.

So she built something different. A digital platform that helped young people discover local opportunities, build future-ready skills, and take control of their next steps.

What We’ve Built

We’ve evolved from an app into a movement.

Today, miFuture delivers:

🎓 Skill Bursts: short, gamified, microlearning for young people making informed career decisions.

🔥 Workshops: to boost career curiosity, and know the qualities and skills needed for the future of work. We bring employer relevance into classroom activities.

😍 Free Resoources: perfect for form time, PSHE, or lesson starters, these printable activities spark reflection and open up the real-world conversation

🧠 Team Training: helping employers and sector groups understand how to engage emerging talent.

🔧 Bespoke Sessions: co-created with partners to solve real problems

We’ve worked with schools, colleges, councils, and employers across Wales and beyond.

Our work is shaped by the people we serve, young people, their grown-ups, and the organisations that need them.

What’s Next

We’re doubling down on future skills.

That means:

  • Embedding the improtance of developing AI and digital literacy into everything we do
  • Championing qualities and soft skills as the real currency of employability
  • Helping employers attract and retain emerging talent

We’re not here to tick boxes. We’re here to change the game.
