I am thrilled to update you on the continued progress of our Skill Burst project.

"Through the gamification of skills, Skill Bursts will raise awareness of high-valued careers and help young adults build future-fit skills that improve their labour market position."

Firstly, as always, I want to thank you for your continued support and involvement. Your ongoing feedback and insights are invaluable in shaping a solution for our users and our stakeholders.

User-centred design remains at the core of our development process. This approach ensures that our solutions are genuinely aligned with the needs and preferences of our users.

We have made significant strides since our last update:

1. We have successfully created a desktop demo of Skill Bursts, marking a pivotal milestone in our journey.

2. We have commissioned a third-party testing firm to ensure the quality and effectiveness of our demo, and challenge our own biases.

3. The demo has been shared with our stakeholders who have been involved in co-creation and co-production, gathering invaluable feedback.

Additionally, we have initiated testing with college learners who are curious about digital careers. This phase aims to refine our solution based on real user interactions and insights.

Our next step involves testing with young adults who are further from the labour market. This will help us understand and address the unique challenges they face, ensuring that Skill Bursts is an inclusive and effective tool for all.

To deliver these milestones, our actions for Q3 2024 are:

- Continue refining the learning and assessment of problem-solving skills and game mechanics.

- Enhance the linkage between assessment outcomes and suitable opportunities.

- Conduct comprehensive user testing of the desktop demo.

- Explore the integration of AI to enhance the platform's capabilities.

As always, the success of Skill Bursts will require the fusion of two key tech components: game design elements and an intelligent matchmaking engine. We are actively researching models and examples, and we welcome any expertise you can offer in these areas.
