Generation Z, the generation born after 1995, is the largest, most diverse, and most tech-savvy generation ever. This generation is already beginning to have a major impact on the world as it grows up and finds its voice.
Gen Z will be our future leaders in technology, social justice, and environmental sustainability, they are leaving school and entering the labour market on mass and will soon their place as our leaders of industry, society and innovation.
They are highly aware of the world around them and have a strong desire to make a positive impact...
π Gen Z is leading the charge for social change, pushing for more sustainable practices, and creating technology that is revolutionising the way we live and work, expecting more diverse representation in the workplace and in the media, and have greater acceptance for those who are traditionally marginalised by society. They are also pushing for better access to education and healthcare, as well as greater rights for workers.
β Gen Z is leading the fight for social justice, often seen as being more socially conscious and passionate about social justice than other generations. Gen Z'ers are advocating for fair wages, promoting diversity and inclusion, protesting police brutality and racial injustice, and advocating for environmental protections. Gen Zers are also more likely to be politically active, with many turning to social media to share their thoughts and opinions in an effort to create positive change.
β»οΈ Gen Z is leading the charge for sustainability. They are pushing for more renewable energy sources, reducing waste, and creating sustainable consumption habits. They are also advocating for more eco-friendly fashion, with many brands creating sustainable collections, and actively calling out and boycotting brands that risk our planets future.
π§βπ»Gen Z is revolutionising technology. This generation is the most tech-savvy ever and they are using their knowledge to create new products and services that are transforming and improving the way we live and work. For example, Generation Z is creating artificial intelligence, metaverse, and blockchain technology to interact and increase accessibility and fairness globally.
π³οΈβπ Gen Z is challenging traditional gender roles and most queer generation in history. The first generation to grow up in a world where LGBTQ+ rights are widely accepted and discussed, this generation is more likely to openly identify as queer than previous generations, and are expressing their gender identity and sexuality freely. As activists they are speaking up for LGBTQ+ rights, fighting for equality and acceptance, and supporting those who identify as queer.
The political parties and movements that align with Gen Z values now, are the ones that can benefit from the youth vote. We've seen what that can do in the US, with swings to Biden in 2020 and the most impactful voting block to see off the threat of the 'Red Wall' for the Democrats in the 2022 Mid Terms.
The reality is, Generation Z is visible and vocal, and they are creating a more inclusive and diverse world for future generations, with the pace of technology and dismantling of barriers their reach and impact could be like nothing we've ever seen. Generation Z can change the world... for the better, and we should let them.
